When I think of a person who has courage, I see someone who gathers within themselves the ability to do what needs to be done in spite of  perceived dangers or potentially harmful consequences. We think of courage in association with soldiers in wartime, mountain climbing for sport, or a person putting forth the effort to recover from a devastating accident or illness. Also, it is natural for us to fear the future as fear of the unknown. When we must accomplish a daunting task or are faced with an intimidating new challenge, we can shut down with fear of failure. It is the uncertainty that tends to immobilize us. It is quite normal for us to be afraid of what life might throw at us. We might wonder if we even have the ability to clear the hurdles in front of us. We may be afraid there will be some unforeseeable circumstance that could hinder our progress. It could be hard, but it is important to have faith in ourselves. We will never know till we try. If we don’t push ourselves, we might never accomplish anything worthwhile. We must not let fear hold us back. We must push forward with all our might to achieve our dreams and aspirations.

I believe it is crucial for us to understand that after failure comes triumph. It is imperative to recognize and acknowledge fear and face it. Talk to yourself and ask yourself why you are reluctant to attack. We should think positively and affirm that we are powerful and can achieve anything we set our minds to. Having the right attitude is important. Believe in yourself, take a deep breath, and face your fears head-on.
